Current Openings:

• Technical Services Coordinator:  The Northwest Ohio Computer Association division of Northern Buckeye Education Council  is looking for an individual to serve as a Technical Services Coordinator.  A bachelor’s degree in a technical field, exposure to the K-12 School environment  or equivalent experience is required.   The successful candidate will promote NBEC/NWOCA offerings while coordinating  the evaluation, recommendation, and presentation and implementation process of technology opportunities for member districts, community and non-public schools.  

  Desired Skill Set:

  1. Familiarity with Thin Clients and  Citrix Application Sharing a plus.
  2. Good working knowledge of Windows Active  directory and policy administration
  3. Good working knowledge of Apple OS X Open Directory and policy administration
  4. Knowledge of the various applications used in the K-12 space.  These would include applications at all levels and media center packages.
  5. Have the ability to demonstrate an excellent 21^st century skill set.
  6. Working knowledge of TCP/IP networking configuration.
  7.  Understanding of curriculum in K-12 environment.
  8. Excellent communication  and organizational skills.

• PROGRAMMER/ANALYST:  The Northwest Ohio Computer Association is looking for an individual to serve as a Programmer/Analyst for the State Software Development Team (SSDT).  Associate’s degree or experience is a must.  The candidate must be detail oriented, have a willingness to learn and be an active team participant.  The successful candidate will become part of a cross functional team developing enterprise and web-based Java applications for Ohio K12 schools.

Desired Development Skills

Java and Java EE

Spring Framework

Dynamic languages (Groovy)

SQL and Persistence (JPA, Hibernate)

The SSDT is involved in a multi-year migration of legacy payroll and accounting applications to a modern architecture.  Experience with COBOL is useful but not required.
