The Northern Buckeye Education Council (NBEC) is a not-for-profit Council of Governments organized under Chapter 167 of the Ohio Revised Code. The purpose of the NBEC is to provide educational entities in greater northwestern Ohio access to a variety of cooperative administrative services thereby reducing the cost of obtaining these services. Currently the NBEC manages life, dental, health and vision insurance benefit programs; provides data processing services through its Northwest Ohio Computer Association (NWOCA) subsidiary; offers a Workers' Compensation Group Rating Program; assists in the preparation of financial reports; offers inservice training sessions to employees of its member districts; and provides fiscal agency services to other cooperative purchasing programs.The NBEC is organized to:
Presently, there are forty one public education entities as full members in the NBEC, all of which are located in Defiance, Fulton, Henry, Lucas, Williams and Wood counties.The NBEC offices are
located at 209 Nolan Parkway, Archbold Ohio. The Northwest Ohio
Computer Association subsidiary has an auxiliary office located in the
Kingsley Building, Owens Community College, Perrysburg Ohio.
